Wanting More
Wednesday December 5th/25th of Sagittarius

Michael Berg, author of Becoming Like God, says that our problem in this world
isn't that we want too much -- it's that we want too little. Yoga teaches us that
through our practice, the mind stills and becomes like a mirror. And the soul at this
point, can see itself in the mirror of the mind and there is a self-realization. The
soul realizes that "He is it and it is He". We realize that we are God. This can be
frightening. I remember when I was about 18 and heard the John Lennon quote, "If
there is a God, we are it," and I thought he was crazy and I found it to be offensive.
Little did I know that I would share his feeling ten years later.

Accepting that we are a part of God is difficult to accept because it makes us see
how incredibly far we are from our potential, and that is hard truth to be aware of.
It feels much better to think God is somewhere way up in the stars and that we
aren't responsible for life -- but we are responsible. We are making the world the
way it is with our on two hands (X 6 trillion.) We need to want more. Ask
yourself if you really truly want world peace. Do you really truly want everyone to
have sustenance and poverty to be extinct? Do you really want peace among all
people? I know that we don't really want this, because when I look into my heart of
hearts, I see my shadows. I see that parts of me, the dark parts, enjoys privilege
when others are not, doesn't always want to share and I deep down do not have an
open heart to all the world's people. Now, I admit this with trust in you not to judge
me and trust in you to understand that these feelings don't make me evil -- just
human. Also I know that I am not alone in feeling this, the current state of the
world is my proof. Let's want more. Let's want the war to end. Lets want
everyone to have food. Let's want us all to be included and have no more
exclusions of any kind. Unity. Love. Happiness. Don't settle for anything less.

It's Not Just A Dream
Monday December 3rd/23rd of Sagittarius

It is said that a man who has lived away from civilization and who has spent his
whole life away from the modern world will never wake up one day with a craving
for a BigMac. What does this mean? It means that we will never have a desire for
something, unless we have had it before.

During this time of the year, the holiday season, we are warmed by images of magic,
abundance, foods, gifts, family, love, magic, miracles, wonders, happiness and
goodwill. It's all just sometimes too much to take in. We see images of happy
couples in perfect homes with perfect gifts and perfect food. The season (and
marketers) paint a perfect image that can sometimes depress those of us who feel
far from that reality. But, the BigMac story can remind us all that we at one point
must have had all this merry Christmas joy or we wouldn't desire it! Yoga
philosophy says that we once did have all the bliss that we could possibly imagine,
but here on earth we have temporarily lost it due to our sensory attachments.
Through are spiritual work and our yoga practice, we can obtain it again here on
earth and in the world to come. It is possible to experience heaven on earth.
Don't loose your hope, optimism and love of life. Our thoughts create a magnetic
field drawing experiences that match what we are thinking. Today, be conscious of
what you are thinking! If you are sad, you must be thinking something negative! Be
happy. And know that everything you ever wanted in life is possible and real, if it
wasn't you couldn't be craving it. Now that is really exciting!

All The Right Reasons
Saturday December 1st/22nd of Sagittarius

What if after thousands of years of being here on earth, God came down to us and
said, "Listen, all you had to do was to love each other. That means no wars, no
hatred, no judgement, no oppression, no condemning, no killing -- just love each
other as you would want to be loved. That's all you ever had to do."   Well that
would be a lot to take in. Our stupidity would choke us. Our shame would
crumple us.   Let's not let this happen. Today let's love for no reason. Give mercy
for no reason. And remember, you will always have all the right reasons to hate or
judge -- you will always have all the right reasons ---always. Let's get this job
done and love for no reason.

Coat of Many Colors
Friday November 30th/20th of Sagittarius

There is an old story about a man named Joseph and how he had a coat made up of
many colors. His father gave him this coat of many colors because he loved him so
much. But his brothers were jealous of him. So jealous were they that they tried to
have him killed. Joseph however turned the disaster into triumph and although he
found himself in a variety of bad circumstances stemming from his brothers actions,
he turned the situation around and soon became one of the highest leaders in the
land. He was poor but became the most rich. He was alone and became beloved.
And when he did finally see his brothers again he didn't attack them or seek revenge.

Dolly Parton wrote a song about this story and about how the story paralleled her
life in many ways. I think we all are Joseph. We all find ourselves in a situation at
one point that seems unfair, hopeless and impoverished but the truth is we were
loved all along. We were rich all along. And we had the power to change our
circumstances the whole time.

Match Point
Its important to remember that our life is a collection of choices. At every moment
we choose. Often times we choose nothing, which is a choice in itself. But
sometimes in life our choices are very clear -- the road splits in two, and a choice
must be made. "The universe is wise and compassionate," Zary Zukav writes in The
Seat of the Soul. What this means is that at every single second, we are receiving
exactly what we need out of life and the intention is pure and loving -- it is wise and
it is compassionate. The universe will rise to meet you exactly where you are at
the current moment. When you change, the rules change. When you grow, the
choices are more sophisticated. Life becomes a game almost. Caroline Myss says
that even the apple you choose in the supermarket has significance. Today look at
your world with a deep respect. Nothing -- not one thing is random and all eyes are
watching.

Quiet The Mind, Quiet The Chaos

Yoga views the fluctuation of the mind as the root cause of the problems that
humans face on earth. Fluctuating meaning movement. The movement of the mind
is our problem -- the lack of stillness. In fact, yoga is defined as the cessation of
the fluctuation of the mind. This stilling of the mind is how we find peace and
harmony. Fear, worry, stress, hatred, jealousy, poverty are all mind fluctuations.
And in our practice we work at stilling the mind and as a result our lives improve
and new waves of peace and harmony and happiness can occur. Sometimes in the
pit of life, we find ourselves struggling. This struggling leads to more movement in
the mind and thus more chaos. This week learn to breathe. Learn to still the mind.
Remember the quote from George Ohsawa, "The individual who no longer has a
rigid mind has found freedom. Life can be so easy. Refuse to let go and you
are a person drowning; the more you struggle, the faster you sink." Stop the
struggle and just float.

Everything Else Is Commentary
Monday November 26th/16th of Sagittarius

Wisdom is very simply. Wisdom is not complex. Gary Zukav in his book The Seat
of the Soul talks about evolution. He said that evolution was defined at one point
as the gaining complexity of an organism. If one organism is more complex than
another organism then it is considered more evolved. When humans began walking
upright and made further advancements with tools and use of the opposable thumb
this was another leap in evolution. Then Zukav speaks of a different kind of
evolution. He explains that when a teacher like Jesus appears on earth and submits
such qualities as compassion, forgiveness, love and non judgementality we then say
that someone like this is sure more evolved then someone who lacks these qualities.
Evolution suddenly was redefined as the degree that someone has compassion and
love towards his fellow man. Our ultimate goal in life is to treat each other
with basic human dignity. This is wisdom. Is a person who possesses amazing
psychic abilities and unbelievable clairvoyant powers considered highly evolved if he
still is unable to treat his fellow man with respect and love? Is a man who is poor
and seemingly powerless yet able to sacrifice all he has for his neighbor considered
in your eyes to be highly evolved? I think life is a trick. We are tricked into
believing that the powerful and rich are evolved, when most are not. We are tricked
into thinking that if we go to school and have dozens of degrees that we are wise,
but we are not. We are tricked into thinking that the simply man who is almost
invisible to the world, yet spends his life in service to others is the fool. Do not get
lost in complexity. Life is simple. Love your neighbor as yourself, everything else is
commentary.

thanksGIVING
Wednesday November 21st/11th of Sagittarius

Often times spirituality, especially of late, has become tainted with egotism. I
sometimes regret being blunt but here goes: Practicing yoga does not make you
spiritual. Going to church does not make you spiritual. Oming does not make you
spiritual. Saying that Jesus Christ is your savior does not make you spiritual. Saying
you are a Buddhist or saying you are a Jew doesn't make you spiritual. Giving small
change to a homeless man on the street doesn't cut it either. One of my favorite
things I have ever learned was from a wise teacher in New York. She said one day
that the only true sharing there is, is when you share to the point that you are forced
to rely on the mercy of God -- everything else is just receiving. It sort of got me in
the gut when I heard that. So you mean I have to sacrifice my comfort? So you
mean I have to sometimes give to the point where it feels like I won't have enough
for myself? Thats hard to take in. But, isn't that exactly what we need the other
person to do when it's us who needs help? Isn't the lack of sharing beyond our
comfort zones the reason the world is in the chaos it's in? This type of sharing is
how you become close to God. You do His work. No one has ever regretted
going on this path. I encourage you in this life to give when its hard. To share when
you think you may not have enough for yourself. And to love when you think you
can't love anymore. This is Spirituality.

The Big Dream
Monday November 19th/9th of Sagittarius

Often times in life we let our small desires keep us from our bigger dreams and
goals. The easiest and most simplistic example is health. For all of us what usually
happens is we accept the small desire of sitting on the couch or being inactive in
exchange for the bigger desire of having a healthy fit body. Do you see what I
mean? That is how life works. We live our lives forgetting our big dreams because
we accept the little dreams, the little desires. It is said that our problem isn't that we
want too much, its that we want too little out of life. Do we really want everyone on
earth to be fed? To we really want for everyone to be free? Do we really want
global peace?   Today think about what big dreams you are giving up because you
are satisfied with the little dreams. And then be willing to LET GO of the small
desires for the big desires! Restrict the small desires, because you don't just want
good, you want fantastic!

Advocate
Sunday November 18th/8th of Sagittarius

Sometimes to save someone you have to put yourself on the line. A good spiritual
exercise is when you hear another person being gossiped about, try to speak up on
their behalf and saying something positive about him or her. This is almost
impossible to do as an adolescent. During that time, we have very little self-worth
and to speak up for another while a group is gossiping about them seems almost
insurmountable. It's hard to go against the crowd, especially at a certain age. But,
as adults we have no excuse. If we hear negativity being said about a friend or even
a stranger, its important to know that if we stand by without taking action it is like
we are saying the negativity ourselves. This is because we really enjoy hearing
others sullied.   It makes us feel better about ourselves and we need to speak up for
others or leave the room. Children are also in need of our support. If you know of
a child being abused or seeing a child being abused its up to you to be their angel. If
you ignore it, its like you are taking a part in that abuse. Evil occurs when wise men
sit back and do nothing. Be an advocate for those with no voice. What is done to
others will be done to you.

Recipe For Miracle
Friday November 16th/6th of Sagittarius

A miracle is a direct connection to the energy of the Creator. What blocks a 24
hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, whole history of humanity constant
connection to the Creator? The law of attraction.   We connect to the Creator
when we are like the Creator. What keeps us at a disconnect is being unlike the
creator. How are we unlike the Creator? Well, what are the qualities of the
Creator? Unconditional Love. So, when we express characteristics of
unconditional love we are like the Creator and then can connect to the Creator.
When we do not express qualities of unconditional love, we cause a disconnect
from the Creator. In order for you to see a miracle in your life, you have to
find the quality in you that is most indifferent with the energy of the
creator. When you change that quality you will see a miracle. Its that simple, but
so challenging. I remember one day I had some cupcakes I had just bought. And I
hadn't had cupcakes in a very long time. I was very excited to eat these cupcakes.
And I remember taking them to the beach so I could enjoy them on the beach. A
nearby sunbather commented on how delicious they looked and immediately I felt
like the little troll character in the Lord of the Rings. MY PRECIOUS! I hid the
cupcakes under the blanket and didn't offer not even one to the nearby sunbather.
For me, at that moment, that was the quality I needed to transform, but i didn't. I
failed. And when I decided to push myself and to share them about thirty minutes
later, she had gone. I lost the opportunity. It is said that we come to earth not for
huge actions, but sometimes for actions very small. Offering that one cupcake could
have sent my whole life on an entirely different path. But i didn't offer. I didn't
share. I didn't love. I think I could have more willingly gave her $100 then one
cupcake! I chose a cupcake over transformation. I chose a cheap cupcake over a
miracle.

Today look for the parts of you that needs to be enlightened. And remember its a
quality that will be hidden and often hiding from you. It's just a cupcake after all!
But it wasn't the cupcake, it was my selfishness.   Today, find the thief, the liar, the
hoarder, the hater in you and change him. A miracle could be waiting for you right
around the corner.

Watch Your Mouth
There is an old saying, "People should watch what comes out of their mouths more
then what goes in their mouths." This is true. Many of us spend most of our lives
obsessing over what goes into our mouths with no thought of what comes out of our
mouths in the form of words. It is said that we only have a certain number of words
to use in our lifetime and when we say them all -- we die. Words have the power to
uplift or destroy. Often times we get angry and scared and we say hurtful and
destructive things. But the truth is that what we see in others is really a reflection of
ourselves. And our real work is not to tell someone else what is wrong with them,
but to work on ourselves and correct our flaws. Evil and hurtful words are like
daggers and cause irreversible damage. The next time you feel the desire to say
anything negative, take a breath and remind yourself that what you are seeing is only
yourself. And by attacking another you only cause further negativity. And the real
solution is to eliminate the negativity within you first, then the negativity in others
won't ever be there for you to see. Remember, words can't be taken back. Just
like you can't unring a bell.

Go Out!
Wednesday November 14/4th of Sagittarius

The energy this week is about "going out" of yourself. Sometimes that means an
actual physical move but its really about an internal "going out" of yourself. What
does this mean? We are talking about going out of your perceived comfort zone.
This week, take the bull by its horns and do what you know you should be doing!
There is a train with your name on it, don't miss it! This week offers us an
opportunity for major growth and the opportunity to accept responsibility for your
life with zero, I repeat, zero blame on other people. Don't be afraid to leave. Go
where you know you need to go. I have spoken to three people this week who are
starting new things and moving away from where they currently are. This is good. I
wish you all a happy going out party! Step into new life and a new you!

"Dear God, please pray for all the writer's today who are so desperately
needing their money and please help all the people of the entertainment world
who are going through much chaos now as their TV shows are being
canceled. Thank you.   And please help me get that part that I auditioned for
yesterday. And please help me find my soulmate. And please help me make
more money this next month. And please help me figure out why I keep going
out with the wrong people.

Oh and I forgot, please help stop this war and the daily dying and
dismemberment of our troops and Iraqis -- yeah that too."

People First
Suzy Orman's believes that people should come first, then money then things. I
think this is pretty solid advice. But we often live with things first, then money and
people last. Today the people are put in last place. We have a world geared
toward money and things and it's causing a great deal of pain in our global soul.
Many of us are in great sadness and are suffering as well. I encourage everyone to
reach out to your neighbors and co-workers. Share your pain. Share your
problems. Bring the skeletons out of the closets. We need to share and be like a
family again. The middle class is being crushed by huge big business. And thats
good if your big business. Thats good if you're in the cut and in the club. And
often times we think that people aren't souls but just numbers. But everyone of us is
living his or her own movie. We all get scared. We all cry. And we all need love.
This world is like a giant passenger ship. We are all going down if even one of us
has a room thats leaking. We can not be content with just knowing we and our own
loved ones are taken care of. We cannot be content with our full bellies when many
sleep in hunger. The next person you see today in pain, I want you to know that it's
your pain too -- their pain is your pain. Feel it. And go help.

It's a Wonderful Life
I tell ya, this Sagittarius energy is great. This is such a Sagittarius post. I honestly
feel really happy and light today. Nothing external has changed, but the perspective
has. On this second day of Sagittarius we are being given such light and joyful
energy. Optimism. Excitement. New ideas. Can you feel it? I can. It reminds me
of one of the greatest spiritual movies of all time -- It's A Wonderful Life. I cry
every time I see that movie. Talk about the law of attraction and raising your
vibration! If you haven't seen It's A Wonderful Life go out and buy this movie and
use it as your secret weapon in life --especially if you are into The Secret,
Abraham-Hicks and the like. At the end when George Bailey gets his life back, he
is renewed with APPRECIATION. According to Abraham-Hicks, appreciation
for yourself and others is the highest vibrational energy on earth! And when George
Bailey is on this cloud 9 of appreciation, he sees his whole life in a new way. It was
the same life that he always had! But this time everything he hated, he now loved.
All the "coals" of life turned into diamonds. All the grands of sand into pearls.
Even the broken stair post he once loathed, he now loved. What power! And he
learned that the true treasures of life were his wife, children and friends. And with
this internal change of raising his vibration, he allowed a miracle to occur. All his
friends pooled their money and gave it to George to pay his looming debt. Its truly
heaven on earth. This is the power of the next 28 days! Your consciousness
creates your reality! Today is a beautiful day.....the sun is out.........go enjoy and
appreciate your life!

It's Going To Happen
Saturday November 10th/1st of Sagittarius

Well we've made it! Its Sagittarius officially! This month the energy is about
miracles and wonders. Our theme for the next 30 days is It's Going to Happen!
The potential for miracles is in air during these next Jupiter filled days! Jupiter is the
huge enormous planet of good fortune that is influencing us this month. Compared to
the tiny war planet of Mars from last month -- its quite a change! Miracles occur
when we change something internal within us. When we make an internal change,
this is when the physical world changes in response and a miracle is the result.
What changes have you made since this time last year? Are you the same person?
Have you given birth to any new areas of consciousness? I hope we all fulfill our
true potential in our lives and we merit the awe inspiring miracles of Sagittarius.
