| Speed of Change Wednesday April 2nd/26th Day of Pisces 2 Caroline Myss, author of Sacred Contracts, tell us that our greatest fear as humans isn't of death but it is the speed in which our life changes. What does this mean? It means that we fear change and what this change may require us to sacrifice. We fear this change so much that we deliberately slow down the speed in which our lives improve. We spend time intentionally preventing the smooth and immediate arrival of blessings and enlightenment in our life. When speaking of guidance and intuition, Myss reminds us that guidance isn't like looking for a diamond on the shore, guidance is forever, constant and overly abundant. We just don't want to hear the guidance! So we say its not there --- "Where is my guidance?" We need to be willing to sacrifice what is needed to make these changes in our life occur. What are sacrifices? Sacrifices are the parts of our ego that cannot exist simultaneously with our soul. We cannot be self involved and have our soulmate. We cannot be afraid and be fearless. We cannot stay clear of pain and also give birth to new ideas. We can not be free of responsibility and have successful careers and marriages and children. We cannot walk on the ground and fly in the sky. Since we hold on to these sacrifices, like an addict holds on to his drugs, we have fallen in a codependent relationship with time, the process and the slow manifestation of blessings in our life. We don't really want things right away! We want things to come to us in five, ten, twenty years! If I were to tell you your greatest dream is waiting for you at home right now and you truly believed me, I bet suddenly you'd be on a plane to visit your mother! We love it slow. We do not want to surrender our egos! However this is the very thing required of us to move on! Joseph Campbell, modern mystic, tells us that our gems our in the cave. Our greatest dreams are in the darkest of caves. We need to allow the increase in speed in which our lives change if we want to give up languishing in sadness, depression and unhappiness. Let go! Let it all happen. Let it in. Release your love affair with the time and the process. Today, dream of how anything can happen. Dream of your tomorrows -- today! Let your consciousness and perception of reality match its potential! Posted at 454PM by Joseph Transformation Sunday March 23rd/17th Day of Pisces 2 Can something that is pure and good be like poison when given to the wrong person? The quick answer is no. How can something that is pure and good be anything but beneficial? Well, at the root of spirituality you fill find this paradox. It is true that something that is pure and good can be like poison to those of us who are not ready to receive it. For an example, take yoga. If I were to introduce Astavakrasana, a level four arm balance posture, to a brand new student it could not only hurt him, but he could feel defeated and never wish to practice yoga again. A posture that is pure and good can be like poison. Another example: charity. If we were to force an old miser to give charity we may very well aggravate and torture him into giving charity leaving him angry, drained and resentful. Once again something pure and good turning into poison. There is an old prophecy that states: the sun will one day shine bright and heal the righteous and kill the wicked. This is a warning for us that we must transform our natures now before what is good and pure will be poisonous to us. In yoga we learn to except a mild dose of pain as an inoculation of more significant pain in the future. We understand this. Can we apply this to life? Are you willing to be more loving and more sharing today to the point it hurts a little? Are you willing to do this as an inoculation to future more significant pain? This is how we will merit being healed by the sun and not destroyed by it. The soul wants to be heard. Heed its call. Posted by Joseph at 1004PM Everybody's Friend Sunday March 16th/9th Day of Pisces 2 Caroline Myss, medical intuitive and author of Sacred Contracts, says that we will know that we are on the right path when our family ends up thinking we have gone crazy to follow it. A strong reaction from the "tribe" usually indicates you are breaking out of a pattern and that is almost always a good thing. There is an old story of wise teacher who lived in town and he would see many students a day assisting them with their various problems. One day, as the story goes, while one student was waiting for his turn to see the teacher, he noticed that the student before him, while leaving the teachers house, was ranting and raving and cursing about the teacher. The first student went up to the second student and spoke with him. He discovered that the student was very upset and was calling the teacher every name in the book and was not happy with the teacher at all. This surprised the first student for he knew the teacher to be a loving and compassionate man. So the first student went into see the teacher and told the teacher about this man who had just left his house and how he was quite upset and speaking unkindly about him. The teacher was surprised. The teacher said, "Really? That's funny. I only helped him just a little bit. Usually the ones I help a lot are angry with me." This story helps illustrate a truth that we must be mature enough to accept in life: we cannot be everybody's friend all the time. We have to accept that sometimes advice or help for a friend isn't always going to make him or her feel good and this friend could respond in anger and hurt feelings. If you are friends with everyone, you need to look at that closely and see if you are just telling everyone just what they want to hear. This month, we have the wisdom of the two fish of Pisces. Two fish are the symbol of the Pisces astrological sign. What does these two fish mean? One fish is the fish that does what everybody wants. It's the fish that goes on with the crowd. It's the fish that falls into peer pressure. It's the fish that is in an addiction. The fish that says what everyone wants to hear. It's the fish that goes along with the whole school -- never challenging, never going against the stream. But, thankfully for us there are two fish! The second fish is the magic one. It's the fish we must be more like. It's the fish that goes against it's nature, it's the fish that finds it's own way and own path. It's the fish that says what needs to be said even if it means the audience may not like it. It's the fish that wants to connect to a higher order and power and not be enslaved by the opinions and thoughts and powers of other people. The second fish lives in freedom! We cannot ultimately worry about other peoples reaction. We must say what is true and we must say what will help the other person. We must accept that this will leave us with a few people who may not like us. Always, always, always as you grow you will find people trying to tear you down. People are not going to applaud your freedom and power, especially if it means they can't control you anymore. A freed slave always leaves an out of work master. Today, ask yourself: Does everyone like me? Am I everyone's friend? Do I work over time to make sure there aren't any "waves"? If the answers are yes, check it out. Are you a people pleaser? Pleasing people usually means allowing people to continue to hurt themselves. Get in the habit of learning to appreciate that advice that is good for another person (and yourself for that matter) is usually something we don't want to hear or do. Myss says that our best guidance is the guidance we are most afraid to hear. So good luck and swim little fish, upstream to freedom! Posted by Joseph at 221PM Four Fishes Monday March 10th/3 Day of Pisces 2 During the leap year, as we all know there is an extra day in February. And during the leap year, something we may not know is that in the lunar calendar there contains something extra too -- a whole month! If you noticed we have a second month of Pisces on the blog this month. This year we have two full lunar cycles of Pisces. When this happens the second Pisces is connected too mercy while the first Pisces was connected to judgment. If your last month was a bit rough it isn't that surprising. This month should be far lighter and more true to the theme of Pisces. Prepare yourself for a calmer month of good fortune, luck and leadership potential. This month it is important to remember that consciousness does indeed affect reality. The way we think does change your physical world. Now many of us may think this, but we don't really believe it --do we? Let me give you an example of this concept. You could be sitting completely still and calm at your desk at work. Your heart beat is an average 72 beats per minute when a colleague comes up to your desk and whispers in your ear, "The boss wants to see you in his office. He sounded upset." With that one sentence, with that one thought you have now increased your heart rate to 95 beats per minute and you've started to perspire slightly. This is the perfect example of how thought creates a physical change in reality! This example is really something we can all agree upon and have all experienced in one way or another. We can see form this example of the law: thought can create reality. Then what's the catch? Why do we throw out this spiritual law at the times we need it the most? Why do we try to fix physical problems with physical solutions? The answer is because we really don't believe in the law and we are afraid to use it. And we feel that the law doesn't really work because we have many times tried to change our thoughts but it didn't lead to a new physical change -- so we gave it up. How many of us have thought "I am thin. I am lean," only to look in the mirror and see your old rotund body in the mirror. So we think "The law does not work!" But it does. When your colleague whispered in your ear that your boss wanted to see you, did you believe him 100%? Yes, you did. One hundred percent belief isn't belief anymore -- it metamorphoses into certainty. This is what is required this month and every month to create the physical world we want -- CERTAINTY. Certainty is the faculty of the mind that allows completely and accurate creation of the minds potential. Without certainty you have doubt -- doubt is the secret weapon of sabotage to all plans, ideas and powers. If doubt is present then your foundation is without structure and support -- it's almost as if your not really thinking what you think you are thinking! This month, practice certainty. Practice laughing at what you see physically. According to Einstein, all physicality is made up of space anyway. Einstein believed that you should theoretically be able to walk through a wall with no problem! He proved that the wall was mostly space! What creates the impenetrable wall is our certainty that we cannot go through it! If we were certain we could -- we would be able to go through the wall. Einstein was on the brink of discovering what spiritual science has always known -- that molecular structuring is created by the way we think. Your cells are thoughts. Your life is a collection of thoughts! What is on your mind these days? How much fear is in your head? How much faith is in your head? What you find in your mind is what you put there -- so put good things in there. Good luck this month and practice your certainty. Don't think the worst. Think the best! Enjoy your second set of fish, they only swim around every so often.
