Viva Viagra
Tuesday June 17th -- 14th Day of Gemini

Have you seen this commercial? Be on the look out. It's lurking out there in TV land
ready to offend at any moment. Ready to lull you into robotic consciousness.   Ready
to strengthen the bonds of slavery to the senses and then to top it off charge you and
arm and a leg for it! What nerve!

This Viagra commercial honestly makes me very sad. To think that a group of adult
men in their 50's need to be only satiated by having an erection and the lack of one is
their only problem is insulting, degrading and out of touch. But we have played right
into the hands of drug-dealers for years. Make no mistake: At the heart of it, Viagra
is just as much of a drug as Cocaine or any other street drug.

What the topic of this commercial raises, so to speak, is the concept of idol
worshipping.   Idol Worshipping is a rather archaic term that really needs to be
redefined for accuracy. Idol Worshipping is the unconscious or conscious choice to
have an intermediate between you and the light force of God.   It is the archetype of
slave and master. Whenever you derive energy, power, protection, joy, happiness,
wisdom, or any other energy from any person, place or thing and you believe that this
is the source and extent of this energy you are indeed idol worshipping -- you are
idolizing a thing for the energy it gives you and thus greatly shrinking the power you
could potentially receive. In truth, no person, place or thing can possible possess the
full LightForce that the Creator manifests and because of this when you derive energy
from any other source, other than the God-With-In, you are accepting a huge
degradation and reduction of pure energy in the form of a second rate, second class
experience.   But what do you do if you do not know how to connect to the
LifeForce of God? Well you will be left in the dark and Viagra is going to sound
pretty good. So will every other quick fix on the planet.   The spiritual person is one
who has a bigger desire than this. The spiritual person would never settle for the
cheap thrill of a drug, vacation spot or roll in the hay -- we want much more that!
Often times people in this world go from one bodily pleasure ride to the next. We go
from vacation to vacation, cocktail to cocktail, week-end to week-end, sexual
hook-up to sexual hook-up, high to high, power gain to power gain. Only to go to
work between all these idols to make more money to feed the cycle all over again!
When does it stop? Death is when it stops.   When the body had completely given up
and drained out of years and years of this behavior the games soon comes to a close.
Is this your life? Do you go from day to day looking how to satisfy the insatiable
desires of the body? Is this freedom? Are you walking the dog or is the dog walking
you? Do you want freedom? Do you care? Many of us don't care. We are happy
to just go from one quick fix to the next to the day we die.   We are happy to settle
for just a little joy and never try or desire to connect to the bigger joy. What if I told
you that an orgasm was 1/60th of the pleasure of a full on connection to the light force
of God. Imagine how much the Viagra people would try to sell that! Sixty times the
joy of an orgasm is what the union of God is like. So when we are practicing our
yoga and spirituality and we are working on uniting with God it is not done so we can
be pious and enlightened people. It is done out of pure greed! We want the real
thing! But you cannot have two masters! Today, make a choice! Is it the body or
the soul??? You cannot choose both! VIVA YOUR SOUL!   You are gonna have
to sell this one yourself, for no pharmaceutical company is every gonna make a
commercial about this drug -- the drug of freedom, connection and the union with
God is never sold on TV. It's only sold inside. Choose wisely.

A Road Worth Traveling

Since I can remember, I have been involved in spirituality. It's something that is just
inherent in me. I use to think being a yoga teacher was my way of having a virtually
stress free career, but I have found that there is just as much stress being a yoga
teacher as there is as being an accountant (what I told people in high school I was
going to be when I "grew up"). But what I learned about myself is that I need
spirituality. I can't and don't want to talk about anything but. To me everything is
trivial. I drew my job to me magnetically. It's just who I am. I am not saying that this
path is superior to others. I think that being president, a doctor, a parent, an author
and dozens of other professions are equally as important if not more. What I am
saying is that spirituality is a path less traveled and a path I've always wanted to walk
down.

In another year I'll be 30 years old and at this age I am allowed to have a perspective
I think. I am beginning to be standing far enough away to have earned, an admittedly
fuzzy but nevertheless, a picture of my life and of the world. Spirituality is a path that
is less traveled because it's not really a lot of fun. But those of us who travel on it
continue because there are major rewards along the way. As the focus of my life
becomes clearer, I have become stronger in my choices and more confident in the
way I move and change in life. In the beginning of my life, all the qualities that made
me feel depressed and alone are now qualities that make me feel joy and unity. Many
people today look down this road less traveled and see nothing of interest. But
today, I want those people to see me standing in the horizon. I want all who look
down this road with apathy to see my hand waving in the air. I want all who choose
lust over love, gimmicks or guidance, seduction over simplicity, power over peace,
woe over wisdom and fire over the flame, to hear me when I say that this road is not
what it appears to be. There is a nourishment and a Truth that is essential to living
down this path.   Do not be fooled by its unpopularity or its dullness. I implore you to
give it a second and third thought. Take this road. Walk it. I promise you, it's worth
walking down. I promise you it's a decision you will never regret.

Holding Hands (With God)
Wednesday June 4th -- 1st Day of Gemini

Welcome New Month of Gemini! This month we have the power to remove space
between things. Because of the speed and intelligence of Mercury and the energy of
the constellation Gemini, we have this ability to reach out, connect and make a bridge
between where and who we are now -- to where and who will are destined to be.

In this world, we see only a fraction of what there truly is. We see seven simple
colors. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. That's it. Is there more?
Well a thousand years ago we all said a resounding No!   Today we say there is
more. Right now as I sit and write this blog entry there is the World Wide Web
swirling and turning around my nose, arms and toes. There are cell phone
conversations.   There are radio and TV stations all around my body -- INVISIBLE!
Can you believe this? Do you believe this? Turn on your cell phone, your radio, your
TV, your wireless lap top and then give me your answer. So we must admit now,
finally, once and for all that there are wonderful powerful things and truths
that are completely in every single way possible oblivious to our five senses.
What a powerful and profound admission! This is what we know now. But what will
we know in 50 years? What will we know at the end of time? What we will all
soon come to know is that the energy of God is everywhere. But if we aren't
certain of it, we can't use this Divine Energy. If we are certain of it, we can utilize this
Divine Energy to eliminate any and every problem in our lives. This is the power of
Gemini. The planet Mercury is the fastest and closet planet to the Sun in our solar
system. It's the communication planet. But what is communication? Communication
on a spiritual plane is defined as connection. We pray all day long: Dear God let
me connect to my soul mate. Dear God please let me connect to a new job. Dear
God please let me connect to sustenance. To assistance. To answers. To peace.
The list goes on and on and on.   It is a well kept secret, that in this month is the
power, ability and opportunity to connect to the awesome power of God. We can
literally reach out and hold the hands with the Creator. And with this connection all
chaos, problems, desires and questions are fulfilled in the speed of light! How do we
connect? Well, use science and technology as a model. The World Wide Web may
be floating around my body right now, but it's existence is useless and unknown to me
until I have the correct equipment to manifest it. In the same respect, the energy of
the Creator is around me, everywhere but I cannot connect to its power until I have
the right equipment, or consciousness, to make it manifest. What is our equipment
for this vital connection? Our equipment is the consciousness of certainty. We must
know without a shadow of a doubt that the energy of God is present everywhere in
everything, all the time and forever. We must believe it and then we will see it! This
month, if you merit the onset of a problem, see it for what it is: an opportunity to
initiate the power and consciousness of certainty. This month, beg for an
assignment! This month beg for the universe to throw you a curve ball and then
smack it out of the park with the truth that God is everywhere. God is everyone.
God is You. And no one or no thing can stop you, your goals or the complete and
utter eradication of all chaos in your life. In yoga, the whole practice is designed to
help facilitate us in uniting or yoking with the Supreme One -- which is the yogic
name for God. We connect to this power and with it comes complete bliss and the
removal of all darkness. May we all merit the actuality of holding hands with God this
month and for all future months. And we must remember that to create this Divine
Partnership, we must know that the Creator's hand isn't far away, but right in front of
us -- waiting for us to believe.   "You've always had the power," Glinda the Good
Witch said to Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. This is the secret. We've always had
the power.   Good luck.
